Adapt Vission and Support

Adapt is a brand that is not being ruled by numbers and profits. This would affect our way of producing high end boots and most of all our way of thinking. By not having to worry about big stocks that need to be sold we can put all our effort in creating the best product we possibly can. It is our love for skates that drives us to put energy in creating dreams. Adapt is the dream we all chase. It is the road towards perfection, you can be a part of it. Adapt is a different direction, a different mind.

By supporting Adapt, you are directly supporting our visions and dreams. None of the profits go towards the owners but straight towards the development of new products and supporting our team riders. This decision has set our minds free to create everything we want. It is our goal to make the rollerblading world better and better by every pair sold. What company is putting its money and profits direct into rollerblading without taking from it? The more support Adapt gets, the more we can do for rollerblading and its enthousiasts. For every signature skate sold, the rider gets a good amount of the profit to make sure they can make the rollerblading future stronger than before. Keep the dream alive, it is time to Adapt.

Keep the dream alive, it is time to Adapt.

The Adapt GTO
The Adapt GTO Hyperskate is the brainchild of skate designer Pieter Wijnant. Being obsessed by hand build hypercars for most of his life, Pieter used his passion and knowledge to create the ultimate hyperskate. By using the same technology and mindset the hypercar industry uses, the Adapt GTO is the pinnacle of skate design.

Inspired by the prancing horse, the name GTO was given to the ultimate skate.

The GTO race series had no limitations and was banned from motorsports for being too dangerous. All GTO cars that were built were left with no other purpose than to raise the bar for every car ever made.

The GTO shell consists of the Hyperskate Diolene shell, finished with extra layers of black twill 3k carbon for improved responsiveness and a dark look. Also featuring the lowest mounting in our industry, the Quattro mount.

The skin is made out of black Hydro Nubuck leather with details in smooth Italian leather with the GTO badge embroidered on the heel.

It also features a completely new lining material called On-steam. This high performance lining material is 10x as durable as real leather and 3x as thin, resulting in a very close feel to the foot and increased responsiveness. Tested by Pieter himself for over 2 years with no signs of visible wear and tear.

The Crown bearings come with a copper ‘Crown Spacer’ which slots into the centre bore hole. The Crown system enhances performance by reducing the intake of external elements, spreading the load of the rider across a wide plateau creating greater energy efficiency and shifting the position of the bearing away from the frame walls and deeper into the wheel, resulting in less damage and contamination from road debris.

The GTO package also includes CNC machined strap/bolt protectors, lasercut 5mm thick big-wheel plates for 125mm set-ups and a lasercut 1cm UFS heelraise plate.

The Adapt GTO

How to heatmold my Adapt skates?

Adapt boots are the only boots on the aggressive market that are completely heatmoldable. Because of the use of special fibers, your Adapt boot can be molded at lower temperatures. There are four areas of interest for heatmolding: the fit, the cuff area, the toecap and the base of the boot. When your Adapt boot fits perfectly out of the box, we urge you not to heatmold them. Heatmolding is a difficult process which can go wrong when you are unexperienced or do not follow the guidelines.
NOTE: The tutorials below are explained by heatmolding an aggressive skate. You can use these same instructions for heatmolding your Hyperskates. Please make sure that in case of heatmolding a Hyperskate, you leave the frames on the boot. This will prevent any accidental damage to or shifting of the frame mounts.

Heatmolding to improve the fit: if you want to make your skates feel like you have already skated them a few times you can heatmold the boot to make the padding form to your feet.

The Fit
If you want to make your skates feel like you have already skated them a few times, you can warm up your boots, put them on your feet and let the padding form to your feet.

Step 1
Take off your frames and wheels. Wheels can get damaged in the oven so as a precaution you should take off both the frames and the wheels.

If you are heatmolding your Hyperskates, make sure you leave your frame on the boot! You should only take out the wheels. This will prevent any accidental damage to or shifting of the frame mounts.

Step 2
Put the boot in the oven. Put the boot on an oven rack. Do not use tinfoil or baking paper. Make sure the boot does not touch the sides or top of the oven. If you use a microwave oven, make sure the boot does not turn in the oven so take out the turning element. Place the soulplate towards the oven door, since this is the coldest part of the oven.

Step 3
Turn on the oven at 100 degrees celcius or 212 degrees fahrenheit.
Do not use a higher temperature, you can seriously damage your boots!
If you use a microwave, make sure to use the oven function and not the microwave function. Using the microwave function can seriously damage your boots!

Step 4
Leave the boot in the oven for 20 minutes. Do not leave the boots in the oven for a longer time, the boot will become even softer and therefore difficult to shape perfectly.

Step 5
Take the boots out the oven. Be careful: the boot and specifically the metal parts on the boot can be hot! An oven glove is recommended.

Step 6
Sit down on a chair or couch, and carefully put on your boot. Carefully tighten the laces, only lace the bottom part of the boot and not the upper part, because otherwise you will pull the - now thermoplastic - cuff area too much inward and you will create pressure points. Close the strap loosely, do not pull it tight!

Step 7
Bend your knee a bit, this way the padding will set to the position your feet will be in when you are skating.
Wait for at least 15 minutes or until the boot is cooled down. Take off the boot carefully. Repeat the same procedure for your other boot.

Heatmolding the cuff area: the cuff area contains the least fibers of the shell and is therefore the easiest to heatmold. You can form the shape of the cuff a bit outwards when you feel it is too tight around your ankle.
NOTE: you cannot change the forward flex of the cuff by pushing the cuff more forward or backwards. If you do this you can damage the shell internally.

Before you start heatmolding your boots, it is smart to first think what exactly you would like to change and if you have a pressure point where exactly this is. If you know what you want, you will feel more comfortable during heatmolding. So, think first, act later.

Step 5
Take the boots out the oven. Be careful: the boot and specifically the metal parts on the boot can be hot! An oven glove is recommended.

Step 6
Push out the cuff area of the boot. Use your thumbs to put pressure on the top part of the cuff and push it out from the inside. Do not pull the cuff sides out, this way you can damage the lining and the V-cut!
Keep pressure on the cuff area for at least 30-60 seconds to give the shell time to set. The cuff area will always come back a bit after you pushed it out because of the padding.
Be careful when putting pressure on the shell. Since you put it in the oven, the whole boot has become soft and thermoplastic, so make sure you do not accidentally push somewhere else on the shell.

Step 7
Here you can see what the shell of the boot looks like and what happens during heatmolding. The white thermoplastic fibers on the top of the cuff are the easiest to push out.

Step 8
If you are happy with the result, let the boot cool. When using the oven, your whole boot has become soft so it needs to set first before you can skate. Let the boot cool down for at least an hour at room temperature. When you are finished with your one boot, you can start on the other. Never heat up both boots at the same time because each boot needs your full attention.
Note
You cannot change the forward flex of the cuff by pushing the cuff more forward or backwards. If you do this you can damage the shell internally. The forward flex of your boots is mostly determined by the way you lace your skates. Check out the Fit your boots section for more info. If you have any further questions about heatmolding, feel free to ask.

Heatmolding the toe box: If your adapts feel a bit too tight around your toes, it is posssible to make a bit more room in the toe area. The toe box only consists of the heatmoldable fiber and is therefore easily moldable.
NOTE: if you push out the toebox too far, you will put stress on the skin, which can cause wrinkles around the toe.
Heatmolding the base of the boot: If you have a pressure point somewhere on the base of the boot, you can push the shell a bit outwards. This will be the most difficult part to heatmold since the base consists of several layers of fibers, making it more sturdy. Please use the instructions in the next section to heatmold and if you have further questions about heatmolding, please contact us.

The base and Toe
Before you start heatmolding your boots, it is smart to first think what exactly you would like to change and if you have a pressure point where exactly this is. If you know what you want, you will feel more comfortable during heatmolding. So, think first, act later.

Heatmolding the base or toe area of the boot is the hardest part to heatmold because the base of the shell consists of the most fibers. Using a special shoemakers tool to stretch boots can come in handy.

Step 2
Take out the laces. If you have a pressure point in the base of the shell or if you need to make more space at the toes, you will need to be able to push quite hard on the inside of the boot, removing the laces gives you the space to do this.

Step 3
Put the boot in the oven. Put the boot on an oven rack. Do not use tinfoil or baking paper. Make sure the boot does not touch the sides or top of the oven. If you use a microwave oven, make sure the boot does not turn in the oven so take out the turning element. Place the soulplate towards the oven door, since this is the coldest part of the oven.

Step 4
Turn on the oven at 100 degrees celcius or 212 degrees fahrenheit.

Leave the boot in the oven for 20 minutes. Do not leave the boots in the oven for a longer time, the boot will become even softer and therefore difficult to shape perfectly.

Step 6
Take the boots out the oven. Be careful: the boot and specifically the metal parts on the boot can be hot! An oven glove is recommended.

Step 7
Find the spot where you had a pressure point or need more space and push on it from the inside out. You will need to put quite some force on the point to push it out. Keep some pressure on it for at least 30-60 seconds to let it set.
If you are heatmolding the toe area, you can create space on the front or the top of your toes. If you need space on the front, push on the shell. If you need space on the top, gently push out the toebox.
Be careful when pushing out the toebox, if pushed too hard you can create wrinkles in your skin!

Step 8
Here you can see what the shell of the boot looks like and what happens during heatmolding. Push on the base of the shell with quite a lot of force.

Step 9
If you are happy with the result, let the boot cool. When using the oven, your whole boot has become soft so it needs to set first before you can skate.
